St. Charles Borromeo Parish Religious Education Program uses the Alive in Christcurriculum for grades 1-5, published by Our Sunday Visitor. Alive in Christ uses a theologically comprehensive, developmentally appropriate religious curriculum that focuses on the life, mission, and saving work of Jesus Christ. Scripture is presented in ways that encourage students to learn about the people and stories of the Bible and listen to the voice of God. Mirroring the divine pedagogy, each lesson begins with God's invitation in Scripture and leads children to reflect, study and respond with a lived faith.
Parents and Families
AIC helps children and families discover the gift of being alive in Christ with a unique catechetical process that mirrors the divine pedagogy, the gradual and relational way God teaches us so that we can know him and his truth, be guided by the Holy Spirit to respond with faith and love and accept the gift of new life in Christ. Chapters follow a 3-step process: Invite, Discover and Live. Provides easy-to-use lesson planning, teaching, and training tools to help catechists and volunteers improve their knowledge and catechetical skills.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Subcommittee on the Catechism has found Alive in Christ to conform with the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
